Deliciously fragrant, organic Sicilian blood oranges, grown at the foot of Mount Etna. The colour develops from the mix of warm days and cooler nights and provides us with the antioxidant 'anthocyanin', which you don't get in normal oranges. The colour works its way from the skin to the centre.
The blood orange has a more distinctive floral flavour and tends to be more tart, giving a raspberry-like taste. The season doesn't last long so it's advised that you buy when you can get them as they don't hang around for too long.
